A Holiday Concert

The Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale and Artistic Director Gerald Kreitzer will perform their second concert of the season on Saturday, December 10, 7:30 PM, at St. Wenceslaus Church, 1224 5th St. SE, Cedar Rapids. The featured work will be “Carols and Lullabies, Christmas in the Southwest” by the American composer Conrad Susa. The Chorale will be accompanied by Rachel Greene, harp; Collin Smith, marimba; and Noah Andrys, guitar. Also performing selections on the concert will be the Washington High School Madrigal Singers.

Tickets for the concert are $12 in-advance and $15 at-the-door. All students, elementary through college age, are free admission. Advance tickets may be purchased at www.crchorale.org or from a Concert Chorale member.

The Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale aims to promote choral music appreciation and develop musicianship by performing a broad repertoire of music while providing youth and community outreach opportunities.

Meet the Board!

Teresa Barnett is one of the Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale’s Community Board Members. She was born in Illinois, grew up in Oil City, PA, and after completing her degree at Purdue University, she made her way to Cedar Rapids. Teresa is married to Chorale member Greg Barnett, and together they have two children. Their son, Paul, lives in Cedar Falls and is an assistant manager at Peppers Bar and Grill. Their daughter, Laura, lives in Des Moines with her two dogs and is the aquatic manager at Lifetime Athletic. They also have an enjoyable cat, Sadie.

Teresa works as a substitute teacher in the Cedar Rapids area and enjoys her time teaching high school math the most. She is part of the Eastern Iowa Heirloom Quilt Guild and Daughters of the King. IN her spare time, Teresa enjoys quilting, crocheting, reading, biking and riding on RAGBRAI, traveling around the United States and France, and camping.
