Fund Development Specialist
The Cedar Rapids Concert Chorale is hiring for the role of Fund Development Specialist. As a key figure, the Development Specialist will support the full fundraising life cycle, which includes conducting donor prospect management, CRM management, grant writing and management, and donor relations. They will also lead prospect research for potential donors and philanthropic funding opportunities aligned with CRCC priorities.
This is a part-time, salaried contract position.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborates in developing and implementing the Chorale’s strategic plan in conjunction with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors.
- Manages an annual budget in collaboration with the Artistic Director and Board of Directors.
- Coordinates work with the Board of Directors and volunteers, including preparing materials and reports for Board meetings.
- Creates and implements a fundraising and donor engagement plan, including Annual Fund solicitation, planning giving, endowment(s), corporate sponsorships, major gift prospecting, and donor acknowledgement and recognition.
- Identifies and cultivates relationships with new and existing foundation and grant funders. Submits required applications and reports in a timely manner.
- Collaborates with the Board of Directors committee to plan and execute annual fundraising event(s) and occasional small group donor events. May assist in coordinating meetings and attending meetings as requested.
- Member of Fund Development committee of the Board of Directors.
- Proven record as a successful fundraiser, including grant writing.
- Outstanding demonstrated written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Fully proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and familiarity with CRM systems.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, team building, and judgment skills.
- Visionary and innovating thinking, and a strong desire to grow the organization.
- Willingness and ability to perform other duties as assigned.
- Outstanding demonstrated written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Work evening and weekend hours as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- A college degree in business, arts management or another related field. CFRE preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of nonprofit experience, preferably with an arts-focused organization, and demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Prior experience securing individual, corporate, and major gifts.
- Prior experience writing and securing grants.
- Knowledge of Cedar Rapids area arts community – organizations, venues, funders, etc.
- Enthusiasm about and appreciation for choral music.
- Resident of Cedar Rapids/Iowa City corridor. Must have a valid Driver’s license.
