The third Mainstage performance of the Concert Chorale’s season will feature a Cedar Rapids debut of the groundbreaking piece by Craig Hella Johnson, “Considering Matthew Shepard” on Saturday, March 15th at 7:30 PM at First Lutheran Church.
Premiering in 2016, this oratorio is dedicated to the life and legacy of Matthew Shepard, the 21-year-old Wyoming college student who was beaten and tortured because he was gay, explores musical themes of inclusion, diversity, acceptance and justice.
